Technical Field Trip – 3rd of September 2024

DATE:
September 3, 2024

TIME:
Starts: 09.00 *Please arrive at 08.45 (as the bus leaves at 09.00)
Ends: 16.00 – 17.00 Tórshavn (Location: Same as meeting point)

WHAT TO WEAR:
Please wear comfortable waterproof hiking boots and bring along a raincoat in case of rain. A warm sweater is also recommended.

COST:
DKK 800,-

(Please note: max 52 spots available for the Technical Field trip)

We are excited to have you join us for our upcoming Technical Field Trip, which will provide insights into the diverse applications of water, including its use as an energy source, drinking water, and other purposes. See the map for locations below.

The trip starts in Tórshavn:
1. Meeting point (bus)
2. Visit to the Water Supply in the Municipality of Tórshavn
3. Visit to the site of the first Geothermal open loop system
in The Faroe Islands
4. Lunch & coffee at the brand new Rowing Club house In Klaksvík
5. Visit to Bakkafrost smolt farm, Klaksvík
6. Visit to SEV Hydropower Station, near Eiði

3. Viewpoint: View over Kaldsbaksbotnur
4. Viewpoint. Trøllkonufingur
5. Lunch at Fiskastykkið í Sandavágur
6. Visiting the village Bøur
7. Viewpoint: Múlafossur, the famous waterfall
